Deshpande

Hey! I'm Rohan Deshpande, a Math/CS student at UCLA interested in building distributed systems, focused in the healthcare industry. From current work optimizing veteran healthcare systems to past work in developing scalable bioinformatics applications, I like to build applications which are resilient, modular, and can handle large amounts of users.

Before I switched my major, I was originally a Computational Biology student on the premed track. However, I realized that my mind was more suited for numbers and code rather than biology and anatomy. I still have an appreciation for the healthcare field and biotech, which is what has driven my previous projects.

In my free time, I like to write articles and take landscape photography. My articles are usually based around tech, healthcare, economics, or just interesting things in my life. I'm currently based out of Los Angeles, so a lot of my photos are in national parks in Southern California. Scroll down if you want to see some of the things I write or my photos!

Writing

Essays

My current writings, consisting mainly of thoughts on technology, economics, and my life experiences. I hope people can find it useful! I've always loved reading random people's blogs on the Internet, so I wanted to make one of my own!

Beyond School

Landscape Photography

Sometimes I like to take a day trip on a less busy day and just take some pictures. Here are some of my current ones. I'm trying to get into photography more and make it more consistent; this and writing are the ways I try to have a creative outlet.
